Art and Design covers a wide range of disciplines ranging from Fashion Design and Visual Arts to Photography and Interior Design.

Whilst studying at the University of Salford, you possess a broad multi-disciplinary approach to the subject, which mirrors the ever-changing nature of the role of the 21st century design professional.

Building on our academic and professional resources, our students also benefit from a host of industry standard facilities at our £55 million New Adelphi building. These include workshops over three floors have state of the art machinery including 3D polymer jet printers, rapid Prototyping CNC milling machines and a fine art print studio. In addition there are photographic studios and dark rooms, as well as extensive fashion and garment construction studios. All of these areas are staffed by specialist demonstrators.

Situated in Greater Manchester , the 2nd largest hub for the creative industries in Europe, whatever your course, we’ll encourage you to extend your network within the extensive art and design community that activity participate in networking and mentoring activities, set live projects and provide placements.

You will be encouraged to undertake work placements whilst at Salford. Past students have secured placements at Vogue, McCann Erickson, Barclays, Cartoon Network, Alexander McQueen, Dazed and Confused, Selfridges and the BBC.
