The Politics department is full of excellent and inspiring academics; the variety of modules on offer is broad

and the city itself offers lots of different experiences for people who are in search of city life but aren¿t quite ready for (or fancy) the `Big Smoke¿.

Camilla Walker / MA Politics Student

This MA pathway is best suited for generalists who wish to get a degree in Political Science but do not want to follow a particular area. It allows for maximum choice for course units offered.

Teaching and learning

Part-time students complete the full-time course over two years. There are no evening or weekend course units available on the part-time route.

You must first check the schedule of the compulsory units and then select your optional units to suit your requirements.

Updated timetable information will be available from mid-August and you will have the opportunity to discuss your unit choices during induction week with your course director.

Coursework and assessment

Assessment is by class presentations, essays and 12-15,000 word dissertation
