This programme combines the support and structure of taught modules with independent research. It will introduce approaches to enable you to apply this understanding to your own professional context.
You take compulsory modules to gain the skills, knowledge and understanding to engage with and evaluate research and theory in education. These modules enable you to find a path for future research, prepare a research proposal, and carry it out. You will also take optional modules related to your professional situation.
You have at least one supervisor from the second year of study and will work with them on all aspects of planning, conducting and writing up your research. Your thesis can answer questions about an issue of professional concern or interest.
Research in the School is organised into a number of research clusters. You will be attached to one or more of them. You will have an opportunity to take part in the various activities of the cluster. These might include:
discussion groups
research seminars

workshop activities
guest lectures
