Description

A PhD available to a wide variety of disciplines to help understand and overcome the challenges facing the hydrogen and fuel cell economy.  These challenges are scientific, socio-political, economic and psychological so a number of exciting projects are available.  The PhD is part of an EPSRC funded Doctoral Training Centre in Fuel Cells and their Fuels which is a partnership between University of Birmingham, University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, UCL and Imperial College London with studentships being awarded by each of the partners and with opportunities and collaboration between all the universities.  

Chemical Engineering is dynamic and evolving. It provides many solutions to problems facing industries in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological, oil, energy and food and drink sectors.  It is vital to many issues affecting our quality of life; such as better and more economical processes to reduce the environmental burden, and more delicious and longer lasting food due to the right combination of chemistry, ingredients and processing.
