Welcome to the MSc in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health (MSc NPAPH), a unique, academically rigorous, multi-disciplinary programme with a vibrant UK, EU and international student community.

The University of Bristol is ranked in the top 30 universities globally. Bristol came first in two major recent surveys conducted by leading British newspapers, The Sunday Times and The Independent. The MSc NPAPH is located within the Centre for Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences, a research-intensive centre within the School for Policy Studies, with an outstanding international reputation.

The results of the 2014 UK Research Exercise Framework (REF) rated the Centre for Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences as the leading centre of international research excellence within the UK.

The programme is taught by a team of fellows of the Higher Education Academy and internationally recognised experts in the biomedical, epidemiological, psychosocial and socio-environmental aspects of physical activity and nutrition, as well as in the development and implementation of strategies for disease prevention and health promotion. For the last couple of years, the course has consecutively received an 100% overall satisfaction rate by its students.

The programme welcomes applications from qualified dieticians, physical activity and fitness specialists and other health professionals (such as nurses, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, physical trainers and occupational therapists) who are looking to develop in the important area of nutrition- and physical activity-related public health. It is also suitable for newly-qualified graduates from a wide range of disciplines planning to gain a specialisation in these three disciplines and a career in this area.

The programme is set in Bristol, an academically and socially dynamic city that offers unique opportunities for students to explore innovative local projects during their studies. Bristol offers students a vibrant, multi-cultural experience. It is Britain’s first cycling city, and it is within easy reach of London and close to some fantastic countryside. In fact, Bristol has been named ‘Britain’s best city to live in’ for the last two years.
