Description
This innovative programme, focusing on the promotion of active lifestyle from cradle to grave, is a positive and proactive response to current market trends for the UK. It represents a novel research emphasis, complimented by a breadth of teaching expertise in the department, which will bring a multidisciplinary approach to studies, encompassing both the social and natural sport sciences that will prepare our graduates for the sports/health sector and its vision for the next decade.
Students will develop competences in a range of vocationally relevant tasks, which will augment their ability to understand, and critically evaluate, key theories and concepts in sport, physical activity and health. The vocational element of the course is at the forefront of the curriculum design, with students able to opt to undertake an extended yearlong work placement, enabling the development of industry experience, whilst enhancing the key transferable skills necessary for cultivating a career in the sport and health industry in the 21st century.
