Description
This course is designed for practicing managers wishing to develop their careers within the field of risk management. If you’re the holder of a relevant degree, or equivalent qualification, it is a chance to explore advances in risk management. Whilst financial risk has always been a key area, international trade, cyber security, reputational risk, risk of terrorism, and natural disaster have all led to the need for risk to be considered in a wider context than the previous financial risk focus.
Through active learning, you will develop the experience and competence required to operate in the risk management world at a senior level. This should enable you to work at a corporate Head of Risk Management level.
The course is aligned with the latest requirements of the market; students can seek registration with industry bodies such as the Institute of Risk Management, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) before or after graduation.
The FERMA framework, linked to ISO31000, Risk Management, from the International Organisation for Standardization, forms the basis for this course. The overarching module is Principles of Risk Management which enables students to gain the required skills and knowledge to oversee the risk management process at a senior corporate level whilst the other modules, such as Financial Risk, Infrastructure Risks, and others, provide the ability to recognise and deal with risks arising from those areas.
Each module offers a combination of practical and research focused activities that reflect the realities of present day risk management. They also provide the technical understanding and critical analysis skills which are prized by employers.
You will be taught by experienced and dedicated staff who have industry knowledge, academic qualifications and published research.
