There is a growing demand for professionally trained people in complementary medicine and acupuncture is one of the most popular specialisms in this field.
From completing this course you will have developed the knowledge, skills and professionalism to practice as a qualified practitioner. The area of acupuncture is one of the most fascinating, challenging and rewarding career paths in this sector.
You will study acupuncture from a Chinese medical approach including the principles of yin and yang, zang-fu organs, qi, eight principles approach to diagnostics and their application to practice. As well as developing an understanding of Chinese philosophy, you will also acquire knowledge of anatomical studies, research and therapeutic skills and develop your skills in communication, presentation, reflection, information gathering, problem-solving and evaluation.
Our on-site Complementary Healthcare Clinic provides you with the opportunity to practice your skills and practical experience is a key part of the programme – dealing with patients with acute and chronic conditions whilst assisting in the promotion of health and wellbeing.
This course is professionally accredited with the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM) allowing you, upon successful completion of the degree, to apply for Ordinary Membership in Category One (Acupuncture and Tui Na), and The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
